Get to Know The City of Oaks
Raleigh, NC may be home to about half a million people, but it’s still a city where you’ll often run into someone you know. The capital of North Carolina and seat of Wake County, Raleigh easily shifts between its metropolitan living and small town charm. The area is known for its diverse and active job market. It’s headquarters to well-known companies like Red Hat and is home to Research Triangle Park, which contains corporations such as IBM and Cisco. At night and on weekends, though, residents are all about fun. The city has 40 free historic attractions and museums, over 100 miles of public greenways, and over 5,500 acres to explore at William B. Umstead park. It also holds around 85 schools, including NC State University, Meredith College, and Shaw University. It’s easy to see why its residents love calling it home.
